Terms of Service

Effective and last updated: 6 August 2026

1. Operator and acceptance

BlackSwan Archive is operated by Q-Star Trading (ABN 27 149 616 218), Australia. By creating an account, using the API or purchasing a plan, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy and Refund & Cancellation policies. You must be legally able to enter into this agreement.

2. Research software, not financial advice

The service provides historical scenario analysis, stress testing and defensive portfolio research tools. Outputs are estimates based on historical data and models, may be incomplete or wrong, and are not investment, financial, legal or tax advice. You remain responsible for investment decisions and should obtain professional advice.

3. Accounts and acceptable use

  • Keep passwords and API keys secure and promptly revoke compromised keys.
  • Do not evade credits, rate limits, concurrency controls or access restrictions.
  • Do not disrupt, reverse engineer, scrape abusively, resell or misuse the service.
  • You are responsible for activity performed through your account and keys.

4. Plans, billing and credits

Paid plans are billed monthly in USD through Stripe and renew automatically until cancelled. One compute credit represents one ticker × one forecast. A request containing multiple tickers consumes one compute credit for each ticker forecast processed. Monthly included credits reset on the first day of each month, and unused monthly credits do not roll over. Separately purchased credits do not reset or expire and are used after monthly included credits. Credits have no cash value, are non-transferable, and do not increase applicable rate limits or concurrency allowances. Credits, rate limits and concurrency allowances are shown on the Pricing page and may change for future billing periods with reasonable notice. Upgrades take effect immediately and may incur a prorated charge. Credits are charged for forecasts processed. Credits allocated to ticker-level failures or internal processing failures are returned where supported by the service's metering records. Rejected requests, including authentication, balance, rate-limit and concurrency rejections, are not charged.

5. Cancellation and refunds

Dashboard cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period. Access continues until then and renewal may be resumed before expiry. Refund eligibility is described in our Refund & Cancellation Policy.

6. Availability and changes

The service may evolve over time. We may change models, data sources, features or API responses, and may suspend access for security, maintenance, abuse or legal reasons. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or any particular result.

7. Intellectual property

We retain rights in the service, software, branding, documentation and model outputs to the extent permitted by law. You retain rights in information you submit and grant us permission to process it only as needed to provide, secure and improve the service.

8. Liability and consumer rights

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Q-Star Trading is not liable for trading losses, lost profits or indirect loss arising from reliance on model outputs. Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies a guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded, including rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

9. Governing law and contact

These Terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. Contact support@9cstar.com with questions or disputes. We may update these Terms by publishing a revised effective date; material changes will apply prospectively where required by law.
